Project manager at Impossible is a strategic problem-solver who preserves design at the center of work while achieving our clients' goals. The key responsibilities include ensuring that projects are managed successfully from pitch to completion, whilst managing client relationships.

 

Here is what you will do:

  • Guide projects from pitch to completion by facilitating team productivity, managing client expectations, and providing a layer of communication between teams and stakeholders.

  • Serve as a key conduit between line functions and finance to ensure minimal risk, maximum profitability, and efficiency of overall delivery.

  • Assume responsibility for project budget tracking and profitability within responsible business groups and key accounts.

  • Support the studio’s new business development and sales efforts by providing strategic delivery guidelines, scope and timeline guidance, budget estimates, growing responsible key accounts, and business groups.

 

Your daily tasks include:

  • Manage Impossible team in the US and in Lisbon in terms of resourcing and travel plans

  • Manage relationship between the client(s) and Impossible

  • Manage multiple projects within the same account/ client

  • Look out for new opportunities within existing accounts

 

Here is who you'll work with: 

  • A small distributed team of designers and engineers at Impossible studios in Menlo Park and Lisbon

  • Corporate clients that are based predominantly in the Bay area (one of which is Samsung)

 

Your experience:

  • 6+ years of digital project management and delivery management experience with increasing responsibility.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Program Management or related field.

Set yourself apart:

  • Experience in presenting to and interacting with senior management of client organizations.

  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated experience managing creative and interactive initiatives.

  • Proven project management skills with the ability to multitask.

  • Demonstrable skills and experience in mediation, negotiation, presentation, and conflict resolution.

  • Knowledge of and curiosity about technology and its impact on design solutions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fluid organization

  • A natural skill to engage with people at a deep level whether observing or interviewing customers or working with fellow team members and clients.

  • Certified Product Owner and/or Certified Product Scrum Master.

Bond Touch is a high tech bracelet for couples separated by distance. We took it from a mere idea to a product in just 1 year thanks largely to the huge support from our fans (Bond Touch went viral twice!) who helped us crowdfund the project through preorders. So far we have produced and shipped the first batch of Bond Touch. We are now looking for a person who can help us take it to the next level.

We expect our product manager to be a strategic problem-solver who puts design at the center of work while achieving the company's goals. You will be part of all the decision making process about strategy, vision and product roadmap. There will be regular check ins with the Impossible board member appointed to Bond Touch.

Here is what you'll do:

  • Run operations and make day to day decisions, and raise a flag if something is missing in the team or process.

  • Manage available resources and set priorities

  • Lead and grow the team

  • Make sure that sales, production targets and  deadlines are met

  • Overview communications and PR

  • Overview the software and hardware development

  • Continuously improve the way things are done, and look out for opportunities to further enhance the company

  • Travel to the US and China

Here is who you'll work with:

  • A team of designers, customer support professionals and engineers from the Impossible studio in Lisbon

  • Our production partners in Shanghai and Shenzhen

Your experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a product/project manager in a startup or a leadership role in a bigger organization.

We will be extra happy if you:

  • Are versed in the wearable space and its future.
  • Have proven product management skills with the ability to multitask.

  • Have demonstrable skills and experience in mediation, negotiation, presentation, and conflict resolution.

  • Are professional, flexible, and able to succeed in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Possess knowledge of and curiosity about technology and its impact on design solutions.

  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Are comfortable with ambiguity in a fluid organization.

  • Are efficient at delegating but also able to take over tasks when nobody is available
